This cedar-clad cabin in Central Ontario is surrounded by bucolic countryside and offers the wilds of a remote nature preserve. It is a very comfortable on-grid cabin, light, airy, and modern, yet peaceful, quiet, and private. It is winterized and open year-round. You'll only be a few minutes from shops and necessities but seemingly miles from civilization. There are 50 acres in which to roam, with trails, wildlife, fields and northern ontario forest. Ideal for short or long-term job placements, artists, writers, musicians, nature lovers, birdwatchers, etc.

Most pets are welcome, but please check with us first. The cabin is furnished and we supply everything you need for a truly comfortable stay. Linens, kitchen utensils, LCD TV, DVD player, iPod stereo, microwave.
If you truly want to get away from it all, this is the place for you.
Cellphones work well, depending on their quality/make. 3G network signals are good, and iPhones and iPads work well, and new towers have recently been installed in the township.

The cabin is located on a private road just outside of Powassan, Ontario in the Township of Chisholm, and abuts the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. There are thousands of acres of crown land nearby, yet within 10 minutes you can have access to town which has a Beer Store, LCBO, hardware, groceries, restaurants, laundromat, farmer's market, gas station, mechanics, library, tennis courts, public pool, legion hall, cop-shop, and other conveniences. The grocery store in town offers a very decent selection of foods as well as organic produce. North Bay is only 30kms away should you need something from any big-box store, a movie night, or sushi.
The property is not on a lake but is very close to several lakes with public beaches, boat launches, and ice-fishing. There are also several extensive roads, trails and lakes throughout the crown lands next to our township which are ideal for trailriding, hiking, ATVing, and exploring.
There is a network of trails on the property (intermediate) for hiking and snowshoeing.The area has several horse riding/boarding facilities like Knowlton Ridge and Eastwood Stables. There is a cross-country ski club (no membership req'd), and nearby there are several OFSC trails.
The area is ideal for hiking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, birdwatching, camping, exploring, photography, farming, mountain-biking, x-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATVing, boating, snowshoeing, or just relaxing. There are many lakes nearby in which to fish, swim, and frolic.
